International Installation and Remote Commissioning in India
Electraspec recently completed an international installation and commissioning project in India on behalf of our sister company, Gibson Centri Tech.
The project involved the complete design and manufacture of the machine’s electrical control panels, together with the development of a bespoke Allen-Bradley PLC control program. The machine and control system were initially assembled, tested and commissioned in the UK before being prepared for shipment to the customer’s site in India.
Once the equipment arrived, the Electraspec team supported the installation and recommissioning process to ensure the machine was fully operational in its final production environment.
To keep the project within budget, a dedicated PLC programming engineer was not sent to India. Instead, Electraspec used secure remote-access hardware that had been incorporated into the control panel during the design and manufacturing stage. This allowed our UK-based engineers to connect to the machine, monitor its operation and modify the Allen-Bradley PLC program remotely.
Working closely with the on-site team, we were able to make the necessary software adjustments, resolve commissioning issues and optimise the machine without requiring additional international travel.
